Matt Moskal and Maddie Moskal

The Cannon Falls Boys Golf team had their very first meet this past Friday at the Legacy Golf Club in Faribault. It was a rough start for the Bombers, who shot a team score of 359. Matt Moskal was the lowest score from Cannon Falls with an 82, and first timer varsity starter Jonah Callister was second with an 89. Sophomore Jackson Bahr said, “It was a rough start to the season for all of us. We look to improve greatly as the season progresses.”

The junior varsity also had their first meet Tuesday at Lake City, consisting of one nine-hole round. Dalton Tanner was the lowest of the team with a 44, and Collin Miland scored a 48. The boys have another meet on Thursday the 17th at their home course.

The Bomber girls team have yet to compete, but with 13 girls out for the team, they have more golfers than they’ve had in previous years. Senior Lauren Lecy and juniors Maddie Moskal and Liz Freeberg will be leading the team this year as the Bomber girls look forward to a successful year. They compete for the first time on April 17th, playing nine holes against Triton.
