Ahhh spring. The time where flowers bloom, allergies return, and green is in season. However in Minnesota’s case, it normally means rain, rain, more rain, some sleet, and definitely a sprinkle of snow. Due to the uncooperative weather lately, many sporting events have been canceled and rescheduled for a different day. This results in a jam packed schedule for the teams, and scrambling for activity director, Jake Winchell, as he tries to fit all the conference games in before playoffs get underway.

For example, the softball girls are now playing games on Wednesday nights. Typically Wednesdays are solely practice days for religious purposes. However, with such a tight schedule there is no other choice but to play games on these days. Other issues that arise due to droopy weather is gym space. When practice isn’t outside, the softball girls and the baseball boys end up having shorter practices just so each squad gets the chance to use the gyms. Instead of the softball team practicing 3 to 5, the practice is cut a half hour earlier and ends at 4:30 with the baseball players coming in afterwards and following the same suit. With Minnesnowta experiencing drastic changes in weather on a day to day basis, spring sports are always on the fence regarding games and practices.
